Government Data Services

We find unclaimed property held for your company, and research public records for law firms.

Praxis Rock Advisors is a private firm in New York. We work from what governments publish: state unclaimed property files, court dockets, business registries and federal filings, each read at its source.

Unclaimed property recovery for companies

How an unclaimed property recovery runsFour steps on one line, left to right: find property held under a company's current and former names, trace who holds the right to it today, file the claim with the company's officer, and the state pays the company. The last step and the line into it are drawn in oxblood.
  1. Find

Property held under your current and former names, and under merged or dissolved entities.

  2. Trace

Who holds the right to it today, through each rename, merger and dissolution.

  3. File

We prepare the claim and file it with your company's officer.

  4. The state pays you

The state sends the payment to your company, not to us.

What it is

When a payer cannot reach a company, the state holds the money it owed: vendor payments, refunds, bank balances, insurer checks. It often follows a change of name or address.

Who pays whom

Nothing up front. Our fee is a share of what the state pays you, set in writing before we file; the state pays you directly. We never hold the money.

Research for law firms

Records behind a case theory

Dockets, complaints, company filings and federal records, gathered for the theory a firm is testing.

Class actions found in public data

Patterns in complaints and public records that can point to a class.

False Claims Act (qui tam) matters

Contract, award and program records traced to the company and agency behind them.

Every citation is checked against its opinion and docket.

Public records and filings research

Companies and their past names

Registrations, renames, mergers and dissolutions, across the states where a company has done business.

Courts and liens

Dockets, judgments, UCC filings and recorded liens tied to one company or property.

Contracts and filings

Federal contract awards, registrations and securities filings, each tied to its filer.

Each project ends in a spreadsheet that cites every record and its date, or a short memo with the tables behind it.

Tell us every name your company has used. We will look for property held under each.
